This card was developed in a different course from which I would have normally done my card. Earlier I had been doing sponging on glossy cardstock with the Posh Impressions Caribbean Inkabilities Sponge inks and I had a plain piece of paper underneath in which the overlapping inks would be gathered, not realizing that when I was done that a beautiful background paper would be the result.

I took my newly created background paper and stamped, in black ink, the open end of Posh Impression's duet leaf stamp and embossed with clear embossing powder, cut it out and mounted it onto dark green cardstock. Then I mounted the dark green cardstock with the leaves on it onto another piece of background paper and then onto black cardstock, and finally onto another piece of dark green cardstock.
A very simple, yet elegant design.

Watercolor sticks were used to apply pigment directly to the rubber.

The stamps were then misted with water and the images stamped on watercolor paper. The shadows were added with watercolor from my palette.

The plaid background paper was made using Posh Impressions Rainbow Inks and sponges.

The pieces were layered with solid paper; Ribbon, punched heart and glitter were added as embellishment.

Painting you a Happy Birthday!

I used a paper circle and Gold UTEE, 4 layers, then pressed Posh Impressions Corn (2642E) in it. Then when cooled pulled out and brushed impression with 653 Red Russet Pearl-Ex.

Then I daubed Plum pigment ink on the edges of the round where the Gold UTEE didn't reach and let air dry. Mounted to bronze metallic paper then
marbleized paper then card.

All paper and card corners punched - used family
treasures and all night media punches.

Stamp "Thank You" on the vellum. Use a pop dot to adhere purple heart to one corner of the rectangle and another pop dot to adhere vellum heart to the other corner. - Stamp cougar image with black dye-based ink on a glossy white card stock slightly off center (to the right) and emboss with clear embossing powder.

- Paint cougar image with 561 Metallic Gold LUMIERE paint and let dry.

- Using direct to paper technique, highlight cougar with copper, orange and yellow pigment inks using cotton ball or sponge of your choice to blend. As you color the cougar, the colors will overlap the image to create the background that also includes black dye-based ink.

- After applying the colors to the cougar, some of the embossed outlines may diminish. Use a .03 black pigment pen to touch up some of the lines covered by the paint to enhance the cougar image.

- Attach a scrap of background paper to the left edge of the white card, sizing the strip to allow the cougar to be the center of the exposed card (I used an Asian calligraphy paper).

- Glue the white card to a slightly larger rust card, and use a strip of the rust paper to set off the left side of the card as shown. Attach the completed image to a folded white card.

- Embellish the card as shown. (I found the Asian beads at a local craft store.)
