Stamp Artist

Instructions: Ink the stamp in one of the three colors and stamp it on the white coated stock. Repeat with the other two inks until you have three vases stamped in three different colors. Set aside to dry. Fold the black matte finish cardstock in half and set aside. Cut the black coated stock in half and set one half aside for later. On the other half sheet, swirl and overlap the five colors of Luna Lights paints until it's covered, then set aside to dry. Now you can use the other half of the black coated cardstock. Cut into three squares that each measure 2.5" x 3". Take the gold metallic paper and cut a strip that will measure 8.5" x 2. 7/8".

When everything is dry begin assembly. Cut the painted cardstock with the decorative scissors, along both of the long sides. When finished, run it through the Zyron, then attach it to the front of the black matte cardstock that you had previously folded in half. Next, run the gold paper and black squares through the Zyron and attach them to the front of the card like the picture. Now you can cut out the vases, leaving a small white border around each one. After they've been run through the Zyron, turn them over and attach 4 pop-up dots in a line from top to bottom on each. Now turn them back over and attach them to the centers of the black squares. Use the sticky edges left by the Zyron to stick the sides of the vase down and help the dots "bow" the vases out so they look almost 3D.

This is the time to use the gold pen to trace the cut borders along the front of the card. Then use the paper punch to punch three holes at the bottom of the card. Insert the gold eyelets. Attach the three bells to jump rings and hook them through the eyelets. All done!

"Under the Sea shrink plastic bracelet"

Stamp Artist
Stefani Kelley

I did not come up with this idea- I adapted it from a bracelet by Lisa Vlach which was shown in the
June/July 2003 issue of Stamper's Sampler. :)

Cut out 7 squares of black shrink plastic. The article did not specify a size, so I made mine 2.5"
square. Clip the corners with a corner rounder. Punch holes in the squares with a 1/8" hole punch; 2
on each side, except for the 2 end pieces which will only have 1 hole on one of the sides. Shrink each
piece of plastic with a heat gun. Immediately after shrinking, press down into the plastic with a textured
stamp. I used French Letter by Stamp Oasis, but just about any will do. When cool (not too long to wait)
dab a little halo blue gold Lumiere paint onto your finger, and rub onto the square into the impressions
made by the texture stamp like you would rub 'n' buff. Set aside.

Now cut out 7 pieces of white or ivory shrink plastic, slightly smaller than the black squares. Again, the
article did not specify, so I guessed at 2" square (which turned out to be a wee bit big, but still useable). Apply blue and green shades of chalk randomly to the squares. Not too much- when it shrinks, the colors will become darker. On 2 of the squares, stamp Butterfly Fish from Meer Image with black Staz-On ink. On 2 more, stamp Butterfly Fish ii from Meer Image. On the remaining 3, stamp Staghorn
Sumac (I think it looks a little like coral) from Meer Image several times in a pleasing pattern. Shrink the
pieces. Use a black Sharpie marker to edge all 7 pieces and to draw little bubbles coming up from the
fish. Seal with a decoupage sealer.

Because I misjudged the 2 sizes of shrink plastic when I cut them I could not fit jump rings in between the 7
black pieces and still fit the smaller pieces on top. So instead, I threaded 22 gauge craft wire that was
colored blue-green through the pieces to join them together as a bracelet. Then I glued the smaller pieces on top of the black pieces in a pattern that was pleasing; in some spots this covered the wire holes. Snip the loops off of 3 silver sea-themed charms that are flat. Glue the charms onto the pieces with the coral. Finish off with a clasp of your choosing.

1. On glossy black cardstock, sponge various colors of Lumiere paints. Set aside to dry. When dry cut to outer dimensions. Out of excess, punch 3 small hearts.

2. Brayer white glossy cardstock with pink and purple Marvy markers in stripes. Let dry. Use variouscolors of blo-pens to create a confetti look. Cut to 4-1/2" x 6-7/8" and mount to background created in Step 1.

3. Stamp Stampland stamp #4147-39 "At the Masked Ball" with Kaliedacolor Calypso ink on white paper. Color skin areas and faces on skirt with fleshtone colored pencils. Carefully cut out and mount to 3-1/4" x 5" black cardstock previously stamped with the same image in white Memories ink. Trim as shown. Mix Pearl-Ex with gum arabic and water and paint some areas of the black cardstock. Mount a little to the left leaving the lower area large enough to hold the hearts, charms, clockface, and bows. Attach these as shown. Note: One bow is of a black and gold fiber, the other is from a thin sliver of paper trimmings.

4. On each corner of the confetti background, pierce a tiny hole and insert a small brad. Wind gold cording around the brads to create a frame for the piece. The beaded inner frame is made by using thin double stick tape and Suze Weinberg's Beadz.
