"Cecily's Flowers"
Stamp Artist - Shirley J. Otis

Supplies & Rubber Stamps:

  • Rubber Stamps|
    "vase" by Memory Box
    flower (unknown)
    "Cecily" by Impression Obsession (B4561)
  • Paper: white textured (Paper Cut)
    green stripe (HOTP)
    one sheet 8 1/2" X 11" acetate
  • Stamp pad: Stazon by Tsukineko - Jet Black
  • Inks: Adirondack Inks by Ranger Industries,
    stonewash and pesto
  • Adirondack Blending Solution
  • Adirondack Alcohol Ink Pads
  • Adhesives: vellum tape
    double sided tape
    3 D Dots

Directions:

Cut and fold 5 X 10" white textured paper for card. Cut one 4 1/2 X 4 1/2" green striped paper. Cut one 3 3/4 X 3 3/4" white textured paper and round these corners. Set aside. On half of the acetate sheet put several drops of stonewashed and pesto inks, allowing them to mix and flow at random. This area must be large enough to accommodate the face stamp. When thoroughly dry, spritz with the blending solution. When that is dry, turn over and stamp "Cecily". Set aside. On the other half of the acetate sheet put several drops of each ink color. While still wet, pounce the surface with an alcohol ink pad to create the pattern you want. You may have to add ink as the pad soaks it up. When dry, turn over and stamp 5 flowers. When dry, turn over, and with a Qtip dipped in the blending solution, take out the color in the middle of each flower. Let dry, then cut out the flowers. On the acetate left, again put stonewashed and pesto drops to blend with a little more stonewashed than pesto, as this will be the "water" in the vase. Pounce until you have the pattern you want and an area big enough for the vase; let dry. Turn over and stamp the vase. Let dry. Turn over and with blending solution on a Qtip take out some of the "water". Cut out vase. Attach the green paper to the white card with double sided tape; attach the green face to the white rounded corner paper with vellum tape, then attach to the green paper with 3 D Dots. Attach flowers also with tiny 3 D Dots in the center and attach the vase with vellum tape. Draw in stems.
