June's "Stamp Artist Of The Month" is
Roz Finnegan

"SOAR"
Stamp Artist Roz Finnegan

Supplies

  • white glossy paper
  • colored cardstock for card
  • Ranger's Sea Brights ink pads in Pool, Beach Ball Yellow and Bikini Pink
  • Car cleaning sponge cut into pices
  • Document black ink
  • wonder tape
  • assorted fibers
  • copy paper

Directions:

Stamp main image (dancer) in black ink in middle of glossy paper. Allow a few minutes for it to try throughly.

Place copy paper along one of the edges of the image, so that the paper hides the image. Dip one sponge piece into bikini pink ink, stamp off exess ink so that there is little color left on sponge, and then sponge color along the length of the glossy paper adjacent to the copy paper. Press the sponge out to the side and down, until a fuzzy line (about 1/4") of ink is running down the length of the paper.

Repeat the above step with pool, and run the color over the pink and beyond, so that some of the layers blend.

Repeat step two with another layer of the pink. Each time you add more color, the color extends further out to the edges of the paper. When satisfied with the color combination, lift the copy paper, and chose another angle to grid in the same manner. At times bring in the yellow, or alternate the order of the colors.

When grids have been placed all over the paper, use the black ink to add more images and words.

Fill in white spaces with a combination of the three colors, blending with the sponges.

Fold the cardstock in half, apply wondertape to the back of the glossy piece and affix to the card.

Wrap fibers around indside and outer fold of card--tie a knot at the bottom to secure.

  • Dark green card stock
  • Purchased printed card stock
  • My hand-made paper
  • Kokopelli #N500 from angi-b & company
  • feather
  • Twig from USArtquest
  • Copper foil
  • Copper wire
  • Double-stick tape
  • Miracle Tape
  • Small feather sticker.

Directions:
Layer all papers with double-stick tape. Layer feather on right hand edge of hand-made paper using small piece of Miracle Tape. Stamp Kokopelli on copper foil. Outline with a stylus tool. Punch small holes at top. String wire through holes and wrap around twig. Attach twig with Miracle Tape.

Affix small feather sticker on inside of card.

Cut cardstock for size of entire card to be used.

Cut a piece of vellum the size of card.

Stamp background design from Angi b& Co.in a row onto vellum. I used yellow but you can use any color.

On a separate sheet of paper or peel and stick, stamp two different spirit women by Angi b.& Co. Set aside.

On top of the vellum, use any four of Angi B. &CO. word stamps. I used spirit, joy, listen and dance on my card. Stamp each in a different color randomly all over.

Put spirit dancers that you had cut out in step no.4 on top of vellum randomly.

Lay vellum on top of cardstock, hold down if need with clothes pins or paper clips, and punch 6 holes across top of cardstock and vellum while holding them together.  The idea being that you want all 6 holes in the same places so you can then take a piece of ribbon and run it through all 6 holes. Cut the ends of the ribbon at an angle when you are through running it through the holes.

"Leaf Mosaic"
Stamp Artist Carolyn Summers

Mask off a white card, approximately 2-1/2 by 3-1/2, as shown in the center section. Swipe the card with Posh Metallic Inkabilities using their rainbow sponge technique by applying the two colors side by side. (Metallic green and Broadway Brights Christmas green) Swipe both directions for a plaid effect. When dry, remove the masking tape and set aside. (I used narrow correction tape found at most office supply stores.)

Using the same sponge, swipe a glossy white scrap of cardstock to be used as the background for the two of the leaf images. Set aside to dry.
Spritz the same sponge with water (used in steps one and two) to lighten the color and then swipe the back side of glossy cardstock at a diagonal angle (the largest card — approximately a 3-1/4 by 4-1/4 ). Using the glossy side of a white card, spray the sponge again and swipe the card at a diagonal angle as shown (middle card — approximately 3-3/4 by 4-3/4). (Note how the metallic inks appear differently on the two cards.)

Using black Brilliance ink, stamp the small leaf on the darkest section of the prepared scrap of cardstock and emboss with black embossing powder. Selecting a lighter section of the prepared scrap, stamp one large leaf with clear Versamark ink and emboss with green embossing powder. Use white glossy cardstock and Encore teal metallic ink and stamp the second large leaf and emboss with clear embossing powder.

Cut out all three leaves and mount them on top of the plaid card as shown. Glue the plaid mosaic to the smaller glossy card mounted on top of a slightly larger turquoise card and then to the darker diagonal prepared card on top of a larger turquoise card.

Glue the final art to a folded white card, punch a hole in the center fold approximately 1/4 inch down from the top and tie on fiber adornment.
