  • Stamp image (Hero Arts, Love Heartprint, available from "Stamps Inksite Me", on glossy white paper using Kaleidacolor ink pad (I used Creole Spice).

  • Stamp the word image (Stampin Up, Mother and Child set: not a club vendor) on the lighter of the two papers

"Shimmery Sea Shells"

Girl at Beach - Stamps Happen

Using shaving cream technique (see below) with reinkers, marble piece of white cardstock. Stamp assorted shells using clear embossing pad & emboss with psychedelic (or opalescent) embossing powder then cut out.

Stamp girl at beach onto watercolor paper using permanent ink and heatset & allow to thoroughly dry. Color using watercolor pencils and waterbrush. Apply a drop or two of glue pen to each small shell & then opalescent glitter.

Layer the linen cardstock onto cobalt blue cardstock using doublestick tape. Tear around the girl and layer onto linen using doublestick tape. Layer sea shells onto lower part of linen cardstock , using foam tape under several of them.

Shaving Cream Technique :

This is a fun, sometimes messy, background I read about recently and had a great time trying it!

Buy cheap, non-scented, shaving cream. Spray some onto a cookie sheet, a sheet of aluminum foil, or such. Smooth it done with a spatula, like frosting a cake. Using dye reinkers place drops here & there on the shaving cream. On some I used one color, others 2 or 3 coordinating colors (i.e.. yellow, mustard, tangerine). Using toothpick, pencil, paintbrush handle, etc. swirl the color. Lay card stock on the shaving cream, push down slightly, then remove. Using the edge of a credit card, scrape off the shaving cream & clean off cardstock with paper towel. You can reuse the shaving cream mixture several times. If a corner or area didn't get enough color, I just smooshed it in the shave. cream again!

I did this with Fresco reinkers and also did some with regular dye reinkers. Did see sample of it done with Radiant Pearls on a website. Just went to a Luna Lights class & we did it with them too. I had fun doing this technique. I did this in the kitchen so I didn't have to worry about getting other papers, etc. messy.

Try it, you'll like it. - Lynn Boushay

"Good Luck Turtle"
Stamp Artist - Carolyn Summers
Images: Stampin FUNaddict

  • Stamp turtle image on white card stock with black dye ink and emboss with clear embossing powder. (The dye based ink dries quickly and will not smear if you elect not to emboss the image.)
  • Color image with markers. (I used Tria because the small tips are easy to use in this detailed stamp.) I used a small amount of clear glue and high-lighted the porpoise, center fish and one other larger design and sprinkled them with a mixture of gold glitter and shimmering enamel. Let dry and then cut out turtle and set aside.
  • Select a corresponding cardstock to match your colored design (gold) and cut a card approximately 4 ¾ by 5 ¾.
  • Stamp Chinese symbol to the top right corner of the cardstock with black pigment ink and emboss with clear embossing powder.

  • For the bottom left image, I took one of my Chinese coins and glued it to a cork and then stamped the coin with black pigment ink and embossed it. You could also use another symbol of your choice.
  • Adhere gold cardstock to a slightly larger piece of black lightweight card stock; glue these to a slightly larger yellow cardstock. ATTACH TURTLE using two double-sticking foam circles to the gold panel at an angle that provides depth to the image. The card face is now ready to GLUE to a white folded card.

I hand drew the body parts since I don't own any of those cool stamps for stamping them. Cut them out and then randomly stamped them using Red Castle's Kimono stamp.

I also stamped an Illuminated C (by PSX) twice on her chest area. Drew the face.

Using a needle and black craft thread I stiched her hair. Glued on beads for earings.

Dye based ink using Direct to Paper technique was used for coloring her body parts.

Her clothes consist of a piece of Magic Mesh and two cream colored skeleton leaves.

Next I stamped the background on natural colored cardstock using Red Castle's Rango Zoo I.

"All Dressed Up"
Stamp Artist - Donna Fleischli

Color the critters with Lyra watercolor crayons. Layered this onto off white textured cardstock. Glued the woman onto the background putting the bird in her hand.

The final piece was layered onto a black folded piece of cardstock.

"Celestial Kirah"
Stamp Artist - Verna Angerhofer
Image: Time To Stamp

Stamp "Kirah" image onto glossy cardstock with Black Memories ink.

Color the image in with Marvy Brush markers.

The background papers are glossy cardstock which I brayered with Big n Juicy - Soothing Sunset Pad.

Mount image to black cardstock, and then to brayered glossy cardstock and then to black cardstock, which I punched the corners out with Punch #0058LCE by All Night Media.

Finally this was once again mounted to the card which I had brayered also.

"Asian Collage"
Stamp Artist - Roxanne Vierra
Image:Asian Collage stamp by Rubbernecker,
available from A Stampers Paradise

Take Clear Actate and stamp Asian Collage stamp on it with permenant Black ink.

On the unstamped side, take gold leaf adhesive and brush on the back of the stamped image.

Take gold leafing flakes and apply to adhesive (you can select certain gold flakes for certain areas of the collage as shown).

Use whole punch and punch corners.

Wrap cord around as shown and mount on card stock as shown.

I colored the stamp image, directly to the rubber with Marvy brush markers, did a little blending and left a few tiny spaces without color.

With a fine mist spray bottle, I sprayed the stamp until water could be seen on the surface and then stamped it on a piece of 140 lb. watercolor paper.

I then moved some of the color around with a small brush dipped in plain water.  Where I needed more color for the background, I striped the same colors on a piece of waxed paper and picked them up with my brush and more water.

The completed image was mounted on a piece of colored cardstock and then added to the card which I marbled with chalks.

"
Renaissance Treasure Card"
Stamp Artist - April Williams
Image: Magenta - available from A Country Welcome

I used the Renaissance background stamp from Stampa Rosa for the large background.

Stamp with Versa Mark clear ink and embossed with sticky embossing powder.

Brush on some gold leaf in various colors and then added some Pearl Ex in different colors.

Pieces of the spring Magenta background stamp were embossed and cut out and adhered to the front.

A key charm was used as an embellishment. This was glued to bronze sparkle paper, then glued to the blue sparkle paper card.

Make masks out of the 2 stamps, Large Leaf, & Panda.

Place the mask of the Large Leaf on cream colored paper & stamped the panda bear over it using just black archival ink.

Then stamp the first leaf where the mask had been. Now mask the panda & randonly stamp large leaf, using "Herb Garden" Big & Juicy rainbow pad.

Mount to black cardstock & edge with a gold leafing pen, embelish with fibers.

Mount on a layered piece consisting of black cardstock, layered with gold metallic paper w/deckle edge, and a piece of decorative art paper layered on top of
that, also with a deckle edge.

"Still Life With Espresso Pot"
Images: Espresso Pot, Basket - gg designs,
Bramble Leaves - Meer Image

Stamp
gg designs Coffee Pot (It's actually her espresso pot)on creamy Manila colored cardstock. Stamp Basket a little to the right.   I used 2 colors on the pot and the basket.
I found I could just overstamp the Bramble Leaves on the basket without masking, also slightly overlapping the coffee pot, and the basket showed through.

I tore around the design from the front to get a rough edge, and applied to a waxed paper resist background.

Resist Background:
Using a sheet of Waxed Paper larger than a sheet of white glossy cardstock, fan fold the Waxed Paper from one corner. Open paper up and iron onto white cardstock, glossy side up, using newspaper between the iron and waxed paper.

Color with markers in rays to accentuate the fan shape. Glue onto Wine colored cardstock. I use Yes Glue for all gluing.
