"America's Hero's"
Stamp Artist Sally Spelbring |
I used Marco's
Paper Silhouette paper for this project, sponging the paper
with Color Box fluid chalk in dark moss and olive pastel.
I then randomly stamped on Perfect Medium by Ranger using a small
brush, applied gold and bronze Perfect Pearls.
I had old family photos along with other WWII items color copied
at my copy center. I then placed the copy face down onto some
card stock applying nail polish remover with a cotton ball. When
the copy dried (this can be sped up using a heat gun) gently
lift off photo copy. |
These items were applied
to the card with glue stick. I then stamped a map from Stamp
Out Cute using Brillance graphic black pigment ink onto a coffee
stained filter.
Tearing this into a smaller map I glued this on with glue stick.
The gas ration stamps were glued onto a junk mail credit card
that had been sponged using Posh metallic rainbow ink in bronze
and gold.
The back was sponged with Plaid folk art teal acrylic paint I
put a hole using a needle tool through the
ration stamps and card and attached this with a gold star brad.
Using my black Marvy marker I outlined the Office of Price Administration
and the ration stamps. |
|
I started out making a 1/2 sheet of Serendipity cardstock. I
pasted all sorts of scraps from previous projects(some with stamped
images from various
companies..Beeswax
Rubber Stamps and Denami are 2), candy wrappers(what's Valentine's
Day without candy?!), punched shapes, mulberry paper, wrapping
paper and mesh I colored with a gold Krylon pen, to my cardstock
with Yes! glue.
Once all the pasting was done, I filled in some areas with gold
Krylon pen in various pattern. I cut the finished cardstock into
1 1/4" squares and mounted 3 of them on gold glossy cardstock
(available at Marco's)
After cutting an opening the same size as my mounted squares
on the front of my red folded cardstock, I glued the squares
on the right inside of the card so they lined up with the opening. |

"Valentine Serendipity"
Stamp Artist Linda Gordon |
With a Versamark Watermark pad I stamped "love"
, Good stamps, Stamp Goods), Key to my heart, Love is...(Stampin'
Up) and Squiggle hearts, a favorite stamp of mine(Denami, Gone
Stampin I know sells them) on the front and inside of my card.
I brushed Pearl-Ex Brilliant Gold (Ink-links sells it among others,
I'm sure) over the versamark and wiped with a soft cloth to remove
excess powder.
For my gold corners that I glued at the corners of the opening
on the card front, I used the remnants from the Punch Bundh Venezia
jumbo punch(Gone Stampin'). I've bought fibers from all over,
including the Card Ladies, but I'm not sure where the particular
ones I used come from.
The wood heart I dabbed on embossing ink and some Crimson Lake
Marvy and then embossed with clear powder. While still hot, I
added Suze Weinberg's clear UTEE in 2 or 3 more layers and sprinkled
Brilliant Gold Pearl-Ex on it and heated again to embed and distribute
the powder.
The key is cardstock I punched with a Punch Bunch key, impressed
into embossing ink and sprinkled with more gold Pearl-Ex. Fibers
were folded in 1/2 and tied into a knot and hot glued to the
card front along with the UTEE heart.
Various beads were added to the fibers. |

Stamp #580H08
Stamp triple heart design on burgundy card stock
using embossing ink and then emboss with pearl
luster Garnet.
Line up stamp and add one more stamp
to each row and emboss. Stamp once more on off white
cardstock and emboss. Cut into a strip and place in
the center. Use a deckle edge paper trimmer around
the edges and punch 1/8" circles once in each heart
on the left most row. To this add round letter snaps
and string a pretty fiber around each. Now attach
your panel to cream card stock and then to a grayed
purple. Then to another piece of off white to which
you have punched in the center with the ornate
corner punch. To do this you need to pull out the
plastic pieces that make it a corner punch. They may
be tight at first but should be easier to remove
after you have used it a couple of times. Fold a
full sheet of burgundy cardstock in half and punch
the corners. Then attach the panel you have made to
this and add an off white cardstock inside for
contrast. |
