"Dragonfly" Pyramid card/box
Stamp Artist - Sandra Clark-Ferrua

 Supplies

  • Rubber Stamps:
    Dragonflies and cat tails : Blockheads (Inspired by nature sheet #1)
    japanese branch: Beeswax (# 31H)
    Hebrew script: HerRubber (grab bag)
  • Cardstock
  • Perfect pearls (Ranger) colors: Kiwi, Plum, Blue Smoke, Rust
  • Ink (Mustard from inkadinkado, burgundy and brown from Plaid)
  • Chalk from Craf-T
  • Beads from Walmart
  • 2 tooth picks
  • versamark
  • red backed adhesive tape
  • 6 beads
  • 4 small washers

Directions - This item doubles as a box and a note/gift card at the same time.

  1. Cut four triangles of the same size.
  2. Fold over 1/2 inch at bottom of each triangle.
  3. Measure width of triangle right above crease. (in my case 4.25")
  4. Cut square of that measurement.
  5. Ink triangles in mustard, burgundy and brown.
  6. Use versamark to stamp hebrew text over triangle, then lightly chalk over it with dk. red chalk.
  7. Use versamark to stamp cat tails on triangle, then brush with green perfect pearls.
  8. Glue each triangle to the square by the folded over tab. The tab should be underneath the square so the inside looks clean.
  9. Decorate the inside of the box/card as desired, write message directly inside.
  10. Place gift/memorabilia inside. (this can also be done after the box is finished)
  11. Cut 2.5" square of cardstock, cut out 1.5" square out of the the center (save this, it will be the top piece). Stamp branch with versamark and brush with kiwi perfect pearls. Repeat with the smaller square, again cutting center out.
    Use burgundy ink to ink the edges of both squares.
  12. Slip squares in place, mark dot for hole on two opposing triangles, poke hole, and insert tooth picks.
  13. Attach bead to one end of each tooth pick.
  14. Stamp dragonflies and use various colors of perfect pearls colorize them.
  15. Cut out, curl the wings lightly, glue body only to triangle panels to attach.
  16. Cut 5.5" base, stamp around the edges with japanese branch, dust with kiwi perfect pearls, and ink edges with burgundy.
  17. Use red backed tape to attach beads to washers, then to attach washers to base and top of beads to underside of box.

"Escape" Coasters"

 Directions

  1. Use cosmetic wedges to randomly apply chalk ink on tiles beginning with ochre, then ice blue, rouge, wisteria, Prussian blue and warm red. Heat set each color before applying the next. Fingertips are great to use to soften and blend the ink. Spray light coat of workable fixative before stamping images. Stamp images using black StazOn. A stamp positioner may be useful. Heat set. Ink sides and ¼" underside of the tile with black ink. Use cosmetic sponge to apply ink around top edges of tiles. Heat set. Spray one light coat of fixatif and allow to dry. Apply 3 more coats of fixatif (allowing drying between coats) before applying 5 light coats of matte sealer.
  2. Trim cork and adhere to bottom of coasters with E6000.
  3. Optional Tag: Cut a piece of white shrink plastic 3 ½" x 4". Color with chalk inks in the same manner as the tiles and stamp. (Note: Color very lightly as color will deepen when tile is shrunk.) Use punch to round corners. Punch hole for jump ring and shrink. Apply one coat of Diamond Glaze.

    Directions
  1. Stamp window frame - 2 times - one on white, one on tan paper.
  2. Cut out white window frame with x-acto knife.
  3. Stamp & color big chicken --cut out. Color tan window.
  4. Stamp words on top of card --Attach tan frame --slide yellow scraps under sides & netting on corner.
  5. Attach white window frame with foam dots.
  6. Glue raffia & chicken on top of window. Add feathers.
  7. Cut out small egg & attach with foam dot.
  8. Dab distress ink on corners of card.

Directions:

The woman was stamped in permanent black, colored
with markers and cut out with decorative scissors.
The brownie,also stamped in permanent black, colored in markers
and cut out. Then the brownie image was cut to form and glued to the
woman. Background design was randomly stamped with Encore honeydew metallic
and embossed with an Galaxy Green embossing powder. Woman layered on black card stock
then applied to the green card stock.Saying embossed with GalaxyGreen
and added.

"Square Hep Cat Card"

Directions

On white cardstock use Brilliance Pearlescent Lime and Pearlescent Jade DTP to color paper. With Sizzix Circles die cut circles from the colored cardstock. Cut squares from the waste around the two middle sized circles.

Stamp on one of the circles with the Kitty Present; Cat's Pajamas #D-F3150

using Colorbox Fluid Chalk ink in Warm Red. Edge the circle with Fresco Sistine Sky chalk ink. Heat set.

Make a 5.5" x 4.25" card with pale green cardstock. Layer it with a 5.25" x 4" piece of striped paper. Glue the open circle squares and the stamped circle to striped paper. Create "Happy Birthday with Dymo labeler and attach it to card.

"Jessica's Birthday"

Directions:

  1. On a non stick craft sheet, put several drops of Krylon gold ink and several drops of Butterscotch, Terra Cotta, and Raisin Adirondack Alcohol inks. Add several drops of blender solution and swirl together.
  2. Place a quarter sheet of glossy cardstock, glossy side down, onto the ink. Move it around on the ink, then lift up.
  3. Let dry, then stamp lady in Coffee Archival Ink. Stamp image to one side, leaving enough for the sentiment.
  4. Trim with 1/4" border all the way around. Edge with gold Krylon pen.
  5. On remaining inked cardstock, stamp letters to spell out Happy Birthday in Coffee Archival Ink. Trim top and sides close to words; tear bottom edge.
  6. On another quarter sheet of glossy cardstock, use the polished stone technique with the same 3 inks and the gold Krylon (no blender solution).
  7. Color a metal ribbon charm with the gold Krylon.
  8. When dry, run 2 strands of variegated ribbon through the charm.
  9. Assemble pieces on polished stone cardstock, using a glue dot to hold the ribbon charm to the card front and double sided tape to hold ribbon to back.
  10. Tape to front of fold over card.





"Far and Away"

  • Wonder Tape Adhesive Sheet 2" x 5 1/2" cut with deco scissors on left side
  • Beach Sand
  • 4 Real Sea Shells
  • Glue Stick
  • Quick Grip all-purpose adhesive from Beacon Adhesives
  • Double-stick tape

Directions

  1. Prepare card by trimming and folding cardstock to 7 3/4" x 5 1/2"
  2. Glue tan strips to both sides of card front with glue stick
  3. Attach Kraft c-stock after embellishing.

  4. Stamp with sephia ink Seaside collage in center of piece cut to 7 1/4" x 5 1/8"
  5. Accent with chalks wherever you want them with colors of your choosing.
  6. Stamp 4 shells on left side, accent with chalk if desired
  7. Trim Wonder Tape with deco scissors on left side to 1 3/4" x 5 1/2"
  8. Attach to right side of card close to edge.
  9. Remove release paper and sprinkle sand on tape, shake off excess.
  10. Glue 4 real shells to sanded area with Quick Grip Glue
  11. Stamp Far and Away & At Sea above left and below right center image.
  12. Attach this piece to card front with double-stick tape.

"Angel Eyes"

Directions:

  1. Stamp Angel image and quote on ivory cardstock and set aside to dry. Cut a piece of corrugated paper four inches by two inches and randomly ink with Versamark - then apply gold embossing powder and heat to melt. Randomly spray MoonGlow mist on a sheet of white cardstock to achieve a pleasing background.
  2. Cut a piece of this paper four inches by five inches, tearing one side. This can be stamped with any background type of stamp. I only had a silver rectangle vellum tag so I colored it with a gold marker, tore out the vellum so that I could place the quote inside the tag. The quote as well as the angel were aged with the Distress Ink in Old Paper. The Angel image was also highlighted with the Iris blue chalk ink, using my finger as an applicator. Assemble the card as shown. I used mini glue dots and 3-d glue dots to adhere the images and embellishments to the card.




"Mediterranean"

  • Gold glitter glue

Directions

  1. Stamp lady with black ink onto the 3 ½” x 3 ½” white piece of card stock. Color lady with markers.
  2. Next cut out colored image and attach with double sided tape to gold card stock.
  3. Now cut around the lady image leaving a boarded of about 1/16 of an inch.
  4. Next stamp with black ink other images on the 5 x 3 ¾” white piece of card stock. Use sponge daubers with ink from markers to color images in random areas.
  5. Now tear some of the edges of the card stock and highlight the torn sections again with inked daubers.
  6. Next use double sided tape to attach this piece to the face of the brown card stock. Making sure to center the piece.
  7. Add a few lengths of fibers to the left side of the card.
  8. Now add a line of glitter glue to the right side of the card.
  9. After all pieces are centered and taped onto the large black card stock, add some glitter glue in the corners.

"Calla Lady"

Directions:

  1. Prepare texture for alcohol inks. Take white cardstock and randomly add masking tape, torn & crumpled tissue paper, torn & crumpled saran wrap and torn mesh from a bag of produce. Adhere to cardstock with a watered down craft clue. Make the last step an overall coat with watered clue. Let dry completely. When dry add alcohol inks & blending solution until desired affects are achieved. Using large drops of alcohol inks works best. Let dry. Cut textured cardstock to fit card.
  2. On glossy cardstock add Wild Plum & Eggplant alcohol inks along with blending solution. Stamp Calla Lady with StazOn Royal Purple. Mat with blue cardstock. Attach popdots.
  3. Lay lavender Magic Mesh down the center of lavender cardstock. Add textured alcohol ink cardstock using double sided tape. Attach Calla Lady using popdots.




"Chicken Soup"

Directions

  1. Stamp solid circles randomly onto glossy cardstock.
  2. Overstamp randomly the saying "Better Get Better".
  3. Stamp circle outline onto glossy cardstock and inside stamp the chicken soup image.
  4. Cut out circle outline, add eyelet and red string and fasten under the glossy cardstock background.
  5. Layer onto ochre cardstock.
  6. Finish by adhering to the base red card.

"Marigold Girl"

Directions:

  1. Cut cardstock to card size (5 ½” x 4 ¼”) and fold in half
  2. Sponge orange dye ink onto front of card, continuing to sponge until completely covered
  3. Lightly sponge red ink on the outside edges of card, set aside
  4. Ink stamp of woman from Art by Moonlight “Marigold plate” with eggplant ink onto light blue cardstock
  5. Lightly sponge orange ink over woman’s dress and sponge turquoise ink over the woman’s sash and flowers
  6. Cut piece of white/ivory cardstock slightly larger than woman image
  7. Sponge turquoise ink on white/ivory cardstock until completely covered (or use turquoise color cardstock)
  8. Trim turquoise cardstock piece to desired size (mine approximately 3” x 4”)
  9. Punch all corners with corner punch and trim with deckle scissors
  10. Align corner-punched and trimmed turquoise cardstock behind woman image; use as you would a template by marking back of cardstock in corners; once cropped it should fit into punched corners
  11. Cut woman image to size and insert under corners of turquoise cardstock
  12. Ink sunflower border stamp from Art by Moonlight “Vintage Sunflower plate” with eggplant ink
  13. Stamp onto white/ivory cardstock; sponge entire image with orange ink
  14. Cut the three floral images into equal squares (about 1 1/16 inch)
  15. Sponge edges of each square with eggplant ink and sponge more orange ink over center of flowers
  16. Sponge white/ivory piece of cardstock with turquoise ink until completely covered (or use turquoise color cardstock)
  17. Cut three equal squares slightly larger than sunflower squares
  18. Glue sunflower images onto turquoise square layers
  19. Ink “Marigold” word stamp with eggplant ink and stamp on white/ivory cardstock
  20. Sponge orange and red ink over word. Trim around word
  21. Glue word onto slightly larger piece of turquoise colored or sponged cardstock
  22. Arrange all pieces on front of orange card before gluing in place




"Soft and Feminine"

Directions

  1. Cut a sheet of red card stock in half and cut to 5 x 7 for base of card. Cut a strip of lace and apply to card with double sided tape.
  2. Stamp woman image on glossy cardstock and trim. Attach this to a piece of scrap white cardstock for frame. Using a scrap piece of red cardstock from your base card and using a font to your liking print a verse in black ink. Cut this piece to frame your picture. Set aside.
  3. Cut a piece of golden yellow text weight paper 1/2 inch smaller then card base. Cut a piece of scrapbook paper 1/2 inch smaller then yellow paper and glue together. Glue piece of tissue music paper as shown. Cut a piece of red and white polka dot sheer ribbon and attach as shown with double sided tape. Punch 1/8 inch holes and place copper hearts brads in place. Stamp verse with black dye ink in lower right hand corner. Glue this base to card. Line up another piece of scrapbook paper behind framed picture and glue in place. Place a gold butterfly sticker as shown and square gems.
