Directions:
- Ink Audrey portrait with Archival Berry Purple, stamp in
the middle of white glossy cardstock and large post-it note.
- Smudge some Chalk ink around the white cardstock with a cosmetic
sponge in Pink Pastel and Lime Pastel.
- Mask portrait with post-it note.
- Randomly stamp Audrey on stool, in Wisteria. Remove post-it
note.
- Randomly stamp Audrey from Breakfast at Tiffany's in Pink
Pastel and Lime Pastel avoiding too much overlap with central

- Using an exacto knife and metal ruler, carefully cut out
the central image and mount onto dark purple cardstock leaving
approximately 1/4" border around the central image.
- Double stick tape image onto rest of card.
- Trim stamped white cardstock to approximately 3 3/4"
X 5" and mount onto dark purple cardstock leaving a border
all around.
- Using a gold fine tip marker and a metal ruler, draw a line
around the outside of the white glossy cardstocks.
- Masking the central image, again, use blow pen to texturize
background with pink and green sprays of ink.
- Remove mask. With cosmetic sponge, color in Audrey's face
with Chalk ink in Alabaster, and then Peach Pastel. Highlight
her cheekbones with Pink Pastel. Color lips with a toothpick

- Watercolor pencils
- Glossy paper and card stock
- 8 x 10 Canvas
- Cosmetic sponges
- tiny bottle, small buttons, beads, fibers, ribbon, foam and
felt
|
|
Directions:
- Created a textured background on canvas by mixing white and
purple acrylic paint and rubbing it in with fingers with a medium
size brush. You can add a fabric look by pressing Tulle fabric
into the wet paint. Let dry and then gently remove. You may also
stamp a
few hearts or other designs with acrylic paint if so desired.
Sprinkle silver flakes and attach with Perfect Paper Adhesive.
Now, lightly
spray with 1 or 2 colors of web spray paint for an overall artsy
look.
- Add the "BEST FRIENDS" with 3-d dots. Stamp your
words on velum and glued to a small piece of baked polymer clay,
domino or other small embellishment. You can wrap it with colorful
fibers or leave if plain. Later, I added Poly-glaze to give it
a finished look.
- The tiny miniature dog, is an old charm off of a childhood
bracelet. (Add something to show your love and friendship with
the dogs!)
- Stamp the Stampsmith designs several times, with black Ranger
Ink onto heavy glossy card stock. After they dry, apply several
shades of purple and pink dye ink or distressed ink with a sponge.
I also painted the girls' faces and hair with color pencils.
Now glue the girl's photo and dogs to separate sheets of card
stock. (Cut the dogs out separate from the girls.) Now, add fake
fur, feathers, felt, ribbon and beads for more detailed fluff!
I also used lots of 3-D dots to add dimension to the various
elements.
- After all the fur and beads have been added and the girl's
photos are dry ... glue the cut-out dogs on top and apply more
poly-glaze to give a 3-d glass look. I've glued a piece of purple
foam for shading under the girls photos.
- For the words "Lasting Friendship" ... stamp into
purple polymer clay, baked at 275 for 15 minutes. After they
air dried, highlight with
silver metallic ink. You can then add poly-glaze to seal the
words if desired. Attach the finished pieces to the canvas with
3-d dots to
raise them away from your background.
- To make the finished collage be a bit "over the top"
... glue on fun-fake fur as a frame!

Supplies
- Rubber Stamps:
Stampsmith "Blessed Are" sheet
- Heavy blue plastic file folder or white glossy card stock
- Adirondack Alcohol Ink in Butterscotch, Ginger and Carmel
- Alcohol Ink Applicator
- 91 % Isopropyl Alcohol in a "fine" spray bottle
- Krylon Gold Leafing Pen
- Xyron Machine
- Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel/powder
|

"Mosaic Mother and Child"
Stamp Artist - Mary Darling |
|
Directions:
- Using Alcohol Ink Applicator, put several drops of Butterscotch,
Ginger and Carmel on the felt pad. Pounce on file folder
or glossy card stock. When completely covered, dab about 6 times
with the Krylon Gold leafing pen - you need just a little bit
- Pounce again over the gold leafing.
- Lightly spray the center of the file folder with the alcohol.
Wait a little bit before you spray it again for the alcohol will
move the ink. You want the center to be light.
- Let dry completely
- Stamp Mother and Child with StazOn Black ink on blue file
folder or glossy card stock that is cut 4 1/4" X 5 1/2".
Make sure ink is dry.
- Enlarge finished piece at 120% on draft mode on a copier
in color so that you know where to place your pieces.
- Run the enlarged piece through the Xyron face down. You want
the adhesive on the image.
- I did the Mother and Child first, cutting them into mosaic
pieces. I made sure that I didn't cut her face. You really
need to cut one piece at a time or it is to hard to figure out
where the pieces go. Leave space between the pieces for the "grout". You
might need tweezers if you cut the pieces small.
- Emboss using the Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel/powder

|
|
Directions:
- Stamp bathing flapper in Memories Midnight Blue onto the
small white card and set aside to dry.
- Paint a toy crab (or other sea creature or ornament) with
Lumiere Pearl Blue - set aside to dry.
- Cut out a window in the middle of the large white card fractionally
smaller than the stamped flapper image.
- Trace a frame all around the opening measuring approximately
3/4 inch (all around). Score the frame you traced.
- Glue the decorative paper to the card.
- In the inside window opening, cut the decorative paper in
a X shape, from corner to corner, so that you can fold the decorative
paper
towards the inside, and glue it to the back of the frame. Snip
off any excess at the back. Allow to dry.
- Wipe your piece of acetate with the used dryer sheet to remove
any static, on the front and back.
- Apply double sided tape all around the opening on the back
of the frame. Affix the acetate.
- Place double sided tape around the opening of the frame (on
the acetate but not so it will be visible through the window),
leaving
about 1/8 inch margin around the opening, making sure ALL EDGES
of the foam tape TOUCH each other so there is nowhere for the
beads/sand to escape.
- Place a piece of double sided sticky tape on the top flap
of the frame. Remove the protective layer from the tape.
- Holding the frame in your hands, place your Flapper image
where you would like to see it. Fold the top flap onto the back
of the image. This will ensure a good placement for your
image. Open the frame.
- Place your frame, face down, onto your work surface. Carefully
remove the protective layer from the foam tape. Carefully pour
some clear micro beads and some sand onto the acetate ensuring
you do not drop too much on the foam tape.
- Gently flip the image back onto the top of the beads/sand
and affix to the foam tape. On the remaining three flaps of the
frame, affix
some double sided tape, and close up the frame onto the back
of the Flapper image.
- Affix the shaker frame to your gold card.
- Highlight the crab with some Rub'n'Buff, apply some spray
fixative to protect it. When it is dry, affix it to the card
with Crystal Lacquer
(or similar). Allow to dry thoroughly.
NOTE: [I would like to acknowledge Penny Wise Arts for
their templates and method for making shaker cards as the instructions
here are based on what I learned from them.]
