For this project, I used Stamp Zia's "O'Keefe Lily". It was stamped
onto three different sheets of hand-marbled paper (scrape 2-3
colors of art chalk into a shallow tray of water. Swirl
the colors with a toothpick. "Float" a sheet
of cardstock briefly on top of the water. Lift out and
let dry. )
Choose a line image which has several
distinct sections. Stamp the image with black dye-ink onto
three coordinating patterned papers. Then stamp the image
three times onto plain cardstock (I used white).
Cut out the images stamped on the patterned paper. Cut
out the sections you have identified, making sure that you cut
the sections exactly the same on all three images. Lay
the cut out sections on the stamped images you made on the cardstock
so you don't lose any of the pieces.
Rearrange the pieces on each stamped image so that each image
has sections from all three different papers (it's like putting
a puzzle together). Then glue each section down onto the
stamped images.
You can vary this by changing the number of contrasting papers
you use.
The stippling done around the edge of this piece was done with
the Dr.
Ph. Martin Calligraphy Inks.
