"Pin Buddy's"
October's project of the month is compliments of stamp artist's Mary Garvey & Martha Myers.

Pin Buddy's, from Impressions of Faith, are a new concept for making those convention pins which are very popular.

Pin Buddy's are a two to three part stamp set. Two to three separate images that come together to make one pin or card medalion.

Use mounting tape or dots to give the images a 3-D affect.  It's a great way to give a friend a "little something" to wear or a card that you created.

Pin Buddies can be used for more than just pins!  Here are several examples, pins included, from Mary and Martha.

  It's A Boy Card
Using Zana Clark's "Smoosh" Technique, apply several colors of dye based inks, in shades of blue, on white glossy cardstock. Spritz with water and allow to dry.

Stamp images using black ink & emboss in clear EP.
Using bleach, "take away" color from the stars and Teddy's paws.  Color in the bow tie with a blue marker.

Cut out the images; make several of the balls look like balloons.
On white shrink plastic, stamp the teddy bear with black Staz-On pad. Color with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. Cut out and shrink.

Layer as shown, using copper fibers for balloon strings, and a polished stone background to mount the images against.

It's a Girl CD Card
Stamp the teddy bear on white matte cardstock, embossing with clear EP. Color with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and cut out.

Prepare a CD. Paint with Gesso, and sand. Repeat until you no longer can see the writing underneath it. Next, select 2 or 3 pink re-inkers, and apply color randomly over the CD.

When dry, stamp the ball randomly using Brilliance Crismon ink. Heat set to dry. Color the stars with a silver gel pen.

Prepare mini domino in a similiar way as the CD, stamping the ball with Brilliance, and the words with Black Document ink.
Edge both the CD and the mini dominoe with silver Krylon.

Create an interesting background, and layer as shown.

Happy Birthday CD Card
Stamp cake and several presents on white matte cardstock.

Color with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. Cut out. Hand write the "Happy Birthday" message on the cake.

Prepare a CD with Gesso. When dry, use dark green re-inkers to cover the CD. Edge the CD with Gold Krylon. Glue several of the presents to the CD. Use foam tape to "pop" or "elevate" the cake, and 2 of the presents.

Attach CD to gold cardstock, and then to the dark green card.

Shrink Presents Pin
Stamp the birthday cake on black cardstock and emboss. Color with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. the colors will be a little different on black than on white. Cut out and punch 3 holes near the bottom where the eyelets will go.

Stamp the present several times on white shrink plastic, using the Staz-On pad. Color with Prismacolor Colored Pencils, cut out, punch a hole, and shrink. Insert a loop, and attach each present to the cake.

Glitter Cake Card
Once again, stamp cake and several presents onto white matte cardstock. Color with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. Using a pen glue (Sailor Glue), put glue on the cake and sprinkle Moondust Glitter (from Evolving Images). Tap off excess. Trim the presents, and cut the cake in the shape of a rectangle, using a decorative corner punch on the corners.

Edge the presents with Gold Krylon; edge the orange cardstock as well; assemble as shown.
The plaid background was created using one of Posh's sponges and kits.

Giraffe CD Pin
Cut CD. Prepare the quarter piece with white Gesso. Sand until smooth. Stamp the landscape with black Staz-On ink on the CD. Allow to dry, then color with Prismacolor Colored Pencils.

Stamp giraffe on white shrink plastic, also with the black Staz-On pad. Allow to dry, and the color with Prismacolor Colored Pencils. Cut out and shrink.
Attach giraffe to CD with Diamond Glaze, and then coat the entire piece with Diamond Glaze.
Edge with Gold Krylon.
