"From Card To Art"
March's project of the month compliments of Diane Miller, A Monthly Rubber Stamps Club.

Stamp Artist - Diane Miller

Create a card or small piece of stamp art by using one or two stamps and three or four colors.  Construct your card on card stock that is big enough to fill the opening of a 5x7" or 8x10" mat.   Stamp the same images used to create your card onto a selected mat. Enhance the mat surface with the same materials and same colors used on your card.  Frame it!

Matrials:
Images: "Elm Arch" & "Egret" Stamp Zia
Iridescent Accents - Dr. Ph. Martin
Black Zia Sparkle embossing powder
Black pigment ink
White Cardstock
Black Cardstock
Xacto Knife
White Mat Board Frame

Card Instructions:
Stipple the following Iridescent Accents on white cardstock: Sassy Brass, Copper, Delirious Blue, Jade, Deep Violet. Edge with copper . Dry, then mount stippled layer onto black cardstock.

Stamp Egret image on white cardstock , color with Jade, Copper, Delirious Blue, Deep Violet and Sassy Brass. Cut out entire image. Stamp "Elm Arch" twice on white cardstock, emboss in black. Color first with Sassy Brass, then shade on top with Copper.Cut out images.

Using a stipple brush "paint" (do not stipple, use your stipple brush as though you were painting) the edges of a piece of black cardstock, using Iridescent Accents Delirious Blue . Instead of a spotted stipple look, the cardstock will look very textured ... almost like it has threads running through it (unfortunately the scan does not show this well).

Layer the "Elm Arch" & "Egret" cut out images onto the white stippled cardstock that is mounted onto plain black cardstock.Mount this onto the black cardstock you've just textured with blue.

Frame Instructions:
I started out with a plain white matboard frame. Using a damp foam brush and Copper Iridescent Accents, I washed paint over the entire frame. Using Gold Iridescent Accents and your stipple brush, add gold highlights, using a sweeping motion, . Lightly stipple Delirious Blue on top for a finishing touch!
