Five peers of varying shapes and sizes
I had never worked with watercolors that
come in leaflets before. To be honest, I was a little intimidated
at the start. But as soon as I started experimenting with the
2x6 color films, I was amazed this watercolor goes onto
so many surfaces, blends itself smoothly and dries so vibrant
and transparent allowing the layers of colors to show through.
I had never tinted photos before, and certainly never even imagined
to do so with watercolors. But Peerless watercolors took that
fear away. I needed to see if these watercolors would work on
weaved cardstock, regular cardstock and even delicate surfaces
like tissue paper and every time, Peerless watercolors delivered.

The watercolor film leaflet, original with
Peerless, makes storage, travel and application very convenient.
The only care needed with these high quality world famous colors
is to keep them from dampness.
These are also available in liquid form and are safe for children.
The Peerless watercolors are available in numerous wonderful
shades and blend easily to produce any color that you wish.
These colors are economic because a little goes a long way. Fine
arts brushes work best yet even foam brushes can be used with
the Peerless watercolors.
Even if you don't think of yourself as
an artist, try these watercolors and you'll be amazed at the
results. For more information on the Peerless Watercolors, please

1. Line up the
five pears in a row on a black foam core board backed by another
black
board.
2. Take pictures
of the fruits in natural light.
3. Print out on 8x10 glossy photo paper in grayscale mode.
4. Trim tissue paper to 14x18 inches. Crumple
and straighten it for texture.
5. Apply the Decoupage medium sparingly all over the front of
the 10x14 canvas panel. Excessive glue might tear the tissue
paper.
6. Set the tissue paper down carefully
on top and wrap the excess around the edges neatly.
7. Gently smooth it down making sure not to dewrinkle it completely.
Let dry.
8. Using a sparingly soaked foam brush pick up a little bit of
the Orange Yellow and Brilliant Yellow watercolor film and drag
over the tissue covered canvas, allowing the wrinkles to catch
the color.
9. Study the pears and using
Brilliant Yellow, Light Green and Mahogany Brown films of
the Peerless watercolors, paint the pears leaving highlights
on the spots where the light
hits the fruits.
[Make sure to apply paints in light layers.
Applying too much paint at one go does not produce best results
as less is more with watercolors. If you are not used to watercolors,
make extra copies of the photo for practice. The lightness of
the colors will depend on the quantity of water used to blend.
The Niji brushes are very helpful in that regard as they can
control the amount of water released.]
10. Cut a 4x4 square from weave textured ivory cardstock. Freehand
two pears studying the fruits at hand. Color them in using the
same color films. When dry, add details with a pen.
If you are not comfortable
with painting, you can use any rubber stamps in the market.
11. Cut the tinted photos of the pears into irregular strips
and adhere them in a staggered
fashion at about the center of the panel, held vertically.
12. Glue the hand-drawn pears
below the photo strips.
13. Cut a 6x2.5 inch strip from the Tan cardstock. Tear one edge.
Cut the other edge to make a tag.
14. Write the dictionary meanings of the word "Pear"
with pen. Make a reinforcer for this tag using circle and hole
punches. Ink the edges of the tag. Tie a piece of red
embroidery floss to it.
15. Highlight chosen words on this tag with the previously selected
Peerless watercolors.
16. Glue the tag down slightly
overlapping the hand-drawn pears.
17. On the top right corner of the canvas write the title, "Pears"
with pen and fill in with
the Light Green watercolor.
18. Hand write the journaling to finish the
project.
