This easy card technique was inspired by my daughter's "Beyond
Cards" Fan project. I like to make cards, not large
stamp art! It was simple to scale down the larger fan project
to a card sized project. If you have a stash of beautiful
art papers, this card project will get you to use some of your
smaller pieces.
Steps:
- Select two coordinating papers- a background
paper that will cover most of the blank card surface and a paper
to make your fan out of.
- Trace a half circle that is smaller
than the size of the card using a template (like a small plate
or saucer) or a compass on the art paper that is for your fan.
- On the background art pape,r stamp
an image in pigment ink and embosss. Trim the paper to fit your
card surface. Glue it to the card surface.
- Using a ruler, draw pencil lines on
the back of the ½ circle piece of art paper that radiate
out from the middle of the ½ circle. This will give you
your fan wedge pieces. You can make them as narrow or wide as
you like. I prefer to keep them all of equal widths, but you
can vary them if you wish.
- Stamp either the same stamp image or
a coordinating one on the front of the "fan"art paper
with pigment ink and emboss. Now turn it over and cut apart the
fan wedges.
- Edge all the wedges with a metallic
marker or you might like to try backing each fan wedge with a
metallic paper.
- Arrange the fan wedges on top of the
background art paper and glue down each wedge leaving a space
between each wedge to show the background paper through.
- Add an embellishment at the point where
all the fan wedges meet
- As Zana says, sign your work!
