Designing with
Paper Piecing Patterns

The art of turning leftover
scraps of paper into a piece of art. Patterned paper and cardstock
may be combined, along with embellishments to create a 3 dimensional
item.
Paper piecings may be put on cards, scrapbooking layouts, presents,
altered items, and more.
Supplies:
fine tip markers
chalks and or chalk pencils
cream cardstock
solid or patterned paper
heart punch, small
circle punch, large
paper piecing pattern - "baby in
blanket", p.15 in Annie Lang's 202 Paper Piecing Patterns
light box
mini safety pin
bow
Step #1
place pattern on light box
Step #2
place solid or patterned paper on top of pattern
Step #3 Trace pattern design onto the solid
or patterned paper, using a fine tip black marker
Step #4 Cut out traced pieces
Step #5
Punch large circle from cream cardstock
Step #6 Punch 3 hearts from patterned paper
Step #7
Trace exterior edges of all pieces with medium tip black pen.
Step #8 Adhere pieces as shown
Step #9
Add fine line detailing
Step #10
Add chalking to nose & cheeks
Step #9
Attach safety pin and bow
