Technique Tips:

  • All layouts can be modified to be sketches.
  • All layout sketches can be modified to be card sketches.
  • A sketch can be rotated to create a whole new look.

  • Change the format - instead of a rectangular card, alter it to be a square or circle.

  • Instead of a title, try a poem, quote or phrase.
  • For an item spot (marked as an X on the sketch), try a stamped image, paper piecing, or store bought embellishment,
Jolee's and Paper Bliss work great.
  • Layer different types of paper - mulberry, vellum, cardstock, rice, patterned
  • Layer different patterns of patterned paper
  • Use various divider lines - ribbons, cardstock strip, marker, wire, fibers, sticker border, etc.
  • Matte your title letters individually, instead of as a whole word.
