"Autumn Greetings"
Stamp Artist - Daylene Strickland

Directions:

  1. This method of ink application was demonstrated by Tim Holtz. I find it very easy and recommend it! Use recycled wood-handled rubber stamp with Velcro for base (remove rubber image and replace with Velcro). Apply felt strip. Apply blending solution, then drops of all alcohol inks. First dab droplets of the copper accent pen to the gloss cardstock, then apply colors randomly until completely covered. Stamp leaves image on acetate with StazOn black ink. Trim leaving ¼” border and run through Xryon to adhere to piece of colored gloss cardstock. Trim with ¼” border and accent with copper pen. Adhere to slightly larger black cardstock panel. Use remaining pieces of colored gloss cardstock for background and layer.
  2. Adhere terra cotta cardstock to folded card, then add red, black and colored gloss cardstock panels. Emboss the greeting on the bottom of a red cardstock panel 2 ¾” x 5 ¼”. Secure eyelets on the side centering vertically. Trim a piece of colored gloss cardstock 1” x 5”and layer on black cardstock slightly larger. Layer red and black pieces offsetting on the card. Secure acetate piece to card using pop dots.

Directions:

This is an A2 card.  The face is stamped with Stampland Venus Face (med.) 4250 26 using Fresco amaretto truffle stamp pad on glossy white paper.  The face has been stipled with Color Box Autumn Pastels chalk. Around the face is a harvest gold paper that has been stamped with Hero Arts E1132 Maple leaf randomly, using a Gold Brilliance stamp pad and embossed clear.  The center of the harvest gold cardstock is cut out, leaving leaf edges to frame the face.  Gaps between the leaves have been bleached with a Chlorox pen.  Leaves and card are then stipled with Autumn Pastels Colorbox chalk and Brilliance gold. Face is mounted behind opening in leaves.  A tassel of clear, yellow and amber beads is tucked in like an earring.  Card is then layered onto crumpled gold paper and finally onto dark green paper.

Supplies:

  • Deep wine or russet cardstock
  • Cream cardstock
  • Hand-made paper with flower inclusions
  • Copper sheet
  • Versamark ink
  • Versafine Ink (Vintage Sepia)
  • PearlEx Powder in gold & russet

  • Copper Leafing Pen (available from Marcos Paper)
  • Embossing Stylus Pen

    Rubber Stamps
  • Happy Thanksgiving Stamp by Rubber Soul
  • Maple Leaf Stamp by Fred Mullet
    ( available from StampDiva)

Directions:

  1. Measure & score your card to be 3 1/2 x 5 inches.
  2. Stamp Maple Leaf in Versamark ink onto your cream piece of cardstock.
  3. Apply the PearlEx powders directly onto the stamped image - no need to heat set.
  4. To get rid of any excess powder, simply take a dry Swiffer cloth & rub all over the image. You will see that the powder stays on the image, but the rest of the piece becomes clean! Cut out the image.
  5. Take your Versamark Inkpad & using direct to paper technique, stamp the pad onto the whole of your image - do not rub - press down or tap the ink onto the image until it is completely covered
  6. Completely cover your image with Ultra Thick Embossing Powder & heat until melted. Quickly cover with UTEE again & heat until melted. Do this once more & when it has cooled down, you will see that the image looks like a glass tile. Once cooled, round off the corners with the rounder ounch.
  7. Layer the leaf tile onto a piece of Copper sheet, making sure that you use a good strong adhesive! I like to use peel n stick sheets or bead bond sheets. Once you have the image stuck down, round off the corners of the copper.
  8. Take your Embossing Stylus pen & emboss the copper edges with a freehand design.
  9. Take the hand-made paper & tear down the edge. Ahere to the left side of your card.
  10. Stamp Happy Thansgiving in Versafine Vintage Sepia onto the paper.
  11. Adhere your leaf onto the front of the card with mounting tape.
  12. Finish your card by edging it with the Copper Leafing pen!
