"Victorian" Themed Stamp Art

Congratulations to Lori Woodbridge for her winning entry "Ophelia Matchbox"

"Ophelia Matchbox"
Stamp Artist - Lori Woodbridge

I took a matchbox and sprayed with gold paint. With a round sponge, I dabbed purple metallic paint all over
box and covered with handmade lavender paper on sides and bottom. I adhered handmade purple paper with gold leaves on it to the front. I stamped Ophelia image from
The Stampsmith on a paint chip in brilliance black and heat set. I used Marvy Markers for embossing on rose, leaves and hair band, then embossed with clear powder. Dabbed glue on the hair and put crystal glitter on it. I also glued beads to the neckline adding tiny holeless beads also.

I covered a mini domino with pearl brilliance, heat set and stamped "Imagine" on domino. Heat set. I glued domino, heart and filigree (with fibers) to box top. Also adding beads to domino, and beads to fibers.

The drawer was painted with acrylic rose metallic paint. Stamped words on paper and decoupaged with
antique to inside of box. Also adding blue/violet glitter to drawer. The drawer pull is made of a painted wooden bead held on with wire and decorated with fibers. Small wooden "feet" were attached to
bottom.

Placed Image on purple card stock, cut with Creative Memories oval template.

Placed this on flowered wrapping paper run through Xyron adhesive, cut on the corners with Fiskars Victorian paper edgers.

Adhered this to deeper purple card stock and trimmed to have ¼ in border when adhered to deep purple card base.

Used gold metallic pen to outline corners.

Inside, cut same wrapping paper with Victorian edgers to give border around lighter purple oval, for message or letter to be written on.

I stamped the background on a lavender parchment piece of cardstock with a pale Periwinkle dye ink, then I stamped the Gibson Girl in a Plum dye ink.

I tore the edges and glued this piece to a Plum colored panel. I added various stickers (Jolees) and other embellishments to the piece.

The "diamonds" are from Stampa Rosa.

Then I attached the piece to a lavender parchment card.

Stamps used: Background stamp is from
Second Star on the Right, #1045A, "Yes, Virginia".  Gibson Girl is from Red Castle, #42164 Plate 4.

Supplies:
Card Size Doily stamp - Stampendous (#R016)
available at Stamps Inksite Me
Memories stamp - River City Rubber Works
(#1291D) available at Stamp Diva
Pale pink cardstock - folded into a card
Decorative paper - pink with embedded flowers
Decorative paper - white, gauzy, flower patterned
White decorative trim
4 small green buttons
Small pink satin bow
Embroidered pink flowers (I cut mine from some decorative trim I had on hand)
Lyra colored pencils (mauve and gold)
Corner punch
Vellum
Blanco ink
Clear embossing powder
Brillance Graphite Black pigment ink
Detail Metallic Gold embossing powder
Double stick tape
Glue stick

"Days Gone By"
Stamp Artist - Pam Fraser
Steps:
1) Stamp the doily stamp on vellum in Blanco ink and emboss with clear embossing powder. Cut out the doily image.
2) Round the right corners of the pale pink card with a corner punch.
3) Wet and tear one edge of the decorative pink paper. Once dry, mount with double stick tape to the card front. Don't go all the way to the right edge; leave some of the pink cardstock showing.

Hint: Along the left side, I leave a small edge which I wrap around to the back of the card. I think this helps the decorative paper to lie better on the front of the card and to have a smoother look where attached.

4) With glue and/or double stick tape, mount the white, gauzy decorative paper along the left side of the card. Be sure to wrap some to the back of the card just as did with the pink decorative paper.
5) With double stick tape, mount the decorative white trim to the left side of the card.
6) With glue and double stick tape, mount the vellum doily to the card front.
7) Use the Lyra pencils to color the vase on the vellum doily. Soften and blend colors by rubbing.
8) Glue onto the card front the buttons, bow, and embroidered flowers.
9) In black pigment ink, stamp Memories stamp on a scrap of vellum and emboss with gold embossing powder. Cut closely around the word image and glue to front of card.

NOTE: I find that if I use the Blanco ink on vellum and emboss with clear embossing powder, my stamped image doesn't stay white, but rather becomes a soft, translucent image or pattern on the vellum. So this is one way to custom make your own patterned vellum.

"Keeping Cool"
Stamp Artist - Dawn Fagerstrom

I traced the 6 fan pattern images onto Pretty in Pink Cardstock and cut them out with scissors. I stamped the rose bouquet image onto each of the fan pieces with a VersaMark stamp pad and applied some detail black embossing powder, which was then heat set with a heatgun. I colored in the image with watercolor markers. Using a sponge dipped in the magenta inkpad, I applied some color around the rose bouquet. Then I took each fan shape and put the edge of the paper onto the inkpad to apply a little more color to the edges. I punched a hole in each of the fan shapes and inserted and tied a ribbon.
