First of all I stamped the witch image in black Memories Ink, and then I colored it in with Marvy Brush Markers. Next I cut out the image and then adhered it to sticker paper with the sticky side up. Following this I mixed orange glitter and Black EP together and then proceeded to cover the sticker paper with this mixture. I then heated the piece so that the EP would be embossed in the mixture. This was then mounted to orange cardstock and cut out with postage stamp decorative scissors. I then positioned this all kiddy-corner onto the black main card, and finished it off with a black ribbon bow.

"Enameled Poinsettias"
Stamp Artist - Kate Mahoney

Supplies:
Green Stardream cardstock
Red cardstock with a woven pattern
White snowflake vellum
UM Platinum Ink
Embossing powder
Ribbon (black organza)
PearlEx press palettes or PearlEx powder mixed with gum arabic
Magenta Poinsettia Frame (26018-R)
Gold gel pen
Decorative corner punch

Instructions:

1. Stamp Magenta stamp on green Stardream cardstock. Emboss with <foo>embossing powder. I think this powder because it gives a high, dark emboss, which lends to the enameled look of the piece.

2. Using an exacto knife, remove the second frame from the outside. Discard this frame.

3. Color the frame using Pearl Ex mixed with water & gum arabic. Load up your brush with pigment and carefully drop the mixture into each little space on the design. The embossed stamp, contains and repels the liquid. I used Micropearl and Red Russet for the poinsettias. (The Micropearl is fussy and transparent, and so may require a second pass.) I used Super Bronze for the flower centers, and Duo Green-Yellow for the leave. (On the outer frame, I brushed a coat of Duo Green-Blue over just the centers of the leaves.

4. Cut a square of vellum slightly smaller than the large frame, and attach it to the back. Then mount the smaller inside square on top of the vellum, at an angle. Mount this on the red cardstock.

5. Cut and score a sheet of green Stardream cardstock to make a large folded card.

6. Trim the Red cardstock to slightly smaller than the front of the green cardstock. Use the corner punch on all four corners of the red cardstock. Mount the red cardstock on the green folded card.

7. Use the gel pen to outline the edges of the corner design and to outline the large frame.

8. Cut two small slits in the fold of the card, about 1/2" from the edge.  Thread the ribbon through the slits and tie a bow on the outside edge of the card.
