"Bee-utiful Rose"
Stamp Artist - Kathy Nycz

Supplies: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" red cardstock, 5 1/4" x 4" white cardstock, scrap of semi-glossy white cardstock big enough for rose stamp, olive dye ink, red and green water-based markers, black dye ink, ceramic bee button, Xyron machine, double stick tape or glue. Stamps by Posh Impressions: Berry Fine Vine and Duets Rose Large

On the 5 1/4" x 4" white cardstock, randomly stamp Berry Fine Vine all over in olive dye ink. Attach to front of the red cardstock which has been folded in half. With red and green markers, color the bold half of the rose duet. Breathe on stamp to moisten color and stamp on the semi-glossy white cardstock scrap. Using black dye ink, stamp the outline rose stamp over the bold print. Cut out and affix to center of vine stamped panel. Glue ceramic bee button in upper right hand corner.

Stamp image in black memories ink on to white cardstock.
Color in with colored pencils. Paint a base coat of clear crackle over entire image.   Let dry.

"Grapes in Gold Tones"
Stamp Artist - Verna Angerhofer
The grapes were inked with clear Emboss ink pad and then embossed with gold EP onto white glossy cardstock. I colored them in with Marvy Metallic markers and then took my stipple brush and added some Dr. Martin's saffron yellow ink and bronze ink to shade around the grapes. This was then outlined with bronze metallic marker and then adhered to some glossy cardstock to which I had sponged Ranger Inkabilities ink to some glossy cardstock using the sponge as a stamp with various colors dabbed here and there onto the sponge. To tie it in with the gold theme, I then stippled randomly with the saffron yellow ink, and again had a bronze outline using the Marvy metallic marker.

"Leaves of Time" A Memory Album
Stamp Artist - Pam Fraser

Directions:
1) Paint the white mulberry paper with Radiant Pearls. This is very absorbent paper, so it is best to paint one leaf at a time. Be sure to use shading and highlighting to achieve a 3-D look. Keep layering and blending the colors until you are pleased with the results. Do not use water for blending or softening of color.

2) Emboss the leaves with Amazing Glaze. Ink with clear embossing ink for coats 2-4 (I did a total of 4 coats of Amazing Glaze). You don't have to emboss,
but I like the way the colors deepen and pop out and the way the leaves almost look like they are under glass.

HINT: If you will heat from the middle and work your way to the edges when you emboss, you will have less buckling.

3) Cut a frame from the red cardstock for the leaves and mount onto front of leaves with double stick tape.

4) On a small rectangle of red cardstock, stamp "Memories" in gold ink and emboss.

Supplies:

  • Memories stamp - River City Rubber Works
  • Radiant Pearls - Wacky Walnut, Desert Clay,Christmas Rose, Pumpkin Spice,
Summer Sun, Sour Lemon, Olive Branch, Damiana Green, Fandango Green, and Dandelion Green
  • Amazing Glaze
  • White Mulberry Paper - leaf embossed (by Black Ink)
  • Clear embossing ink
  • Encore Ultimate Metallic Gold ink
  • Clear embossing powder
  • Red cardstock (lined)
  • Black Mulberry Paper
  • Make-A-Memory Photo Album by Gick (#MA-02)
  • Double stick tape
  • Xyron Machine/Adhesive (optional)
  • Decorative Gold Paper
  • Gold Ribbon
5) Follow kit directions for covering photo album cover with black mulberry paper and inside of panels with decorative gold paper. I ran the paper through my Xyron machine to apply adhesive. This did cause the mulberry paper to wrinkle some as I applied it to the album panels, but I liked the effect. Use gold ribbon for binding.

6) Mount leaf picture and "Memories" rectangle to album front with double stick tape.

"Thoughts in the Garden Journal"
Stamp Artist - Becky Stratton

2 mat boards cut 5 1/2" X 4 1/4"
2 pieces decorative green hand made paper about an inch larger than the mat boards.
2 pieces end papers 5 1/4" X 4"
10 pieces card stock 5 1/2" X 8 1/2"
1 1/2 yard black waxed linen
tapestry needle
push pin or awl
Brier Rose label
Gold leafing pen
Domino
Brilliance Crimson ink pad
Brilliance Ivy ink pad
Brilliance Black ink pad
gold leafing pen
glue

Cover the mat boards, by gluing the mat board onto the back of the decorative papers. Miter the corners and fold over and glue the edges. Make sure to pull tightly. Glue the end papers on the inside of the two covers. Cover with wax paper and put under a heavy weight to dry.

Group the papers in twos. Fold each group of two in half. You know have 5 signatures measuring 5 1/2" X 4:. Stack your five signatures together on top of each . Hold the pages together and with a pen make 3 evenly spaced marks by drawing strait across from one cover to the next. Use one of the marked signatures to mark the front and back covers the same spacing, but 1/8" in. Fold a wash cloth and put one of your covers on it (still closed). Poke holes where the marks are. Do the same for the other cover. Take one of the signatures (groups of white pages) and open it up putting the crease point facing up over the wash cloth. Poke holes on all of the marks. Do this for all five signatures.

Sew the book together using the chain stitch. Start with one signature and one cover and your needle. Go out the bottom hole of the signature (starting from the inside) then in the bottom hole of the cover and back into the bottom hole of the signature. Go up and out the next hole of the first signature in the hole of the cover and back in the 2nd hole of the signature. Continue doing this until you get to the top hole. At the top hole come out of the signature into the cover, but instead of going back into the first signature add another signature and go into the top hole of it. Go down on hole of that signature and come out stitch under the stitch formed by the first signature and cover and go back in the hole on the 3rd signature you had just gone out. Go out the next hole of that signature and make the same stitch as before. Continue this all the way down the signature. Add all of the rest of the signatures the same way. Then add the back cover the same way as the front. When you get to the last stitch finish it off, by tying a knot inside the signature and cutting your thread off, leaving a 1/2" tail.

Use the gold leafing pen to edge the label. Stick it to the front cover.

Completely cover the front and sides of domino with Crimson ink. Heat set. Rub a little ivy ink on the bottom of the domino and heat set. Stamp the flower (
Second Star on the Right) on the domino. Heat set. Edge with the gold leafing pen and glue on the cover.

First the dominos were decorated. The roses stamp (Four Brushed Roses, K-2291 from PSX, available through A Country Welcome) was stamped onto tissue paper using a Graphite Black Brilliance ink pad. The other side of the tissue paper was colored using Marvy LePlume II markers. The tissue was cut up to separate the roses. Future Floor Finish (FFF) was spread across the top of four dominos and one rose tissue paper was spread on each domino with the stamped image up. FFF was then applied to the top of the tissue and allowed to dry. Two more layers of FFF were applied and allowed to dry. The sides of the dominos were painted with two coats of Emerald Green Lumiere.

A dragonfly and bee charm were glued to the sky. A bee stamp (#RAPO222 from Wild Frog Creations) was stamped and embossed on cardstock, colored with Marvy LePlume II marker, cut out, and glued to the sky.

The matching envelope makes this card extra special.

Color sunflowers with color pencils. Tie raffia thru hole on tag. Layer tag to hunter green cardstock & then to sage green cardstock.

B) Stamp sunflower border in sepia ink on off-white strip. (Note: I didn't have a “real” sunflower border, so I used a daisy border & colored it like sunflowers). Color with pencils and lightly stipple background with ink from cabin fever pad. Layer to strip of mustard cardstock so that a mustard border shows along bottom edge. Layer to corrugated brown strip.

C) Stamp sunflower head with versamark on mustard card.

D) Assemble card as shown. Use foam tape to adhere the top portion of the tag so it will be at the same level as the bottom portion over the corrugated strip.
