INSTRUCTIONS:
The
Caught in Crystal technique
was used to create this card. Stamp the Magenta image on acetate
with Brilliance black ink and emboss with black powder. Tape
the embossed image side down to a sheet of paper on all four
sides to prevent the floor polish from seeping under and onto
the image. Pour Future clear floor wax over the image and spread
out with brush or foam paint pad. Sprinkle light application
of green and gold glitters on the floor polish and dry with heat
gun to speed up the drying process. Add second coat of floor
polish and spread across the image. Use a piece of GREEN tissue
paper slightly larger than the acetate area, crumble it into
a ball then spread it out on top of the floor polish. Add the
colors to the tissue paper in the desired areas and blend using
a piece of paper towel or brush. The Studio 2 inks do not require
much blending, otherwise you blot out the color. Sparingly, add
the Inkabilities Brights to the desired areas along with some
gold from the Krylon pen. Dry with heat gun. Add final coat of
Future floor polish and set aside to dry or use heat gun to speed
up the process. (Caution: Be careful when drying with heat gun
to prevent distorting or melting the acetate film.)
Prepare a piece of rust card stock approximately
5-1/4 by 5-3/4 and cut a slightly smaller piece of the background
paper and affix to the rust card.
Cut out the image leaving the bottom
section of the acetate FILM in tact to represent the ground.
Trim the sides as necessary and glue to the background card.
Mount the completed front to a 5-1/2 by 6 white folded card .
Gone Fishin'
Stamp Artist - Holly Young
Stamp image several times on to white cardstock with black memories
ink.
Color in one complete image and parts of other images you want
to use for dimension. I colored in extra waves and the fish.
The frame I used is one I purchased at my local dollar store.
It came with the graduating widths of mat and the cardboard to
hold the mats apart to give the shadowbox effect.
Take off the back of the frame and pull out all the mats and
cardboard and reassemble using your images putting things in
order in front of mats, behind mats, and in between mats until
you have the look you want.
For the fishing bear image,
I cut off the fishing line part of the image and attached a gold
thread to the end of his pole. I pulled the other end of the
thread out of the frame completely and over to the front of the
glass.
Then I attached the fish to the outside of the glass with a blob
of silicone adhesive and stuck the end of the gold thread to
the fish. After cutting the fish image out, I curved it gently
before adhering it to the glass for
an added dimension.

Stamp Artist - Pam Fraser
Steps: 1) Use ink direct to stamp technique
to stamp pear. Place several drops of the red, yellow, and green
reinker ink directly onto the pear stamp. Lightly blend the inks
using the brayer. Stamp onto glossy white cardstock. You should
be able to stamp several; remember to "huff" to get
those last few pears. Pick one you like the best and save the
others for future projects.
2) Allow pear to dry and then seal it with 2-3 coats of spray
acrylic sealer. Cut it out.
3) Stamp saying in green dye ink onto small rectangle of decorative
paper.
4) Round the corners on a larger rectangle of the decorative
paper. Mount to card front with double stick tape.
5) Use decorative scissors to cut rectangle large enough to frame
the pear out of the matching scrap piece of yellow cardstock.
Mount to card front with double stick tape.
6) Mount pear and saying to card front with foam tape.
7) Stamp swirl in green dye ink onto the inside bottom right
edge of card.
NOTE: When using the reinker ink directly onto the stamp, you
want more ink not less. Be careful not to blend too much. You
may want to use one end of the brayer for the stem and the other
end for the pear body. I also found it helpful to add some accent
color to the pear with my Marvy brush markers before applying
the reinker ink. I adapted this technique from Annie Portz. For
further info and to see her lovely work go to http://homepages.ecity.net/~annie.
